Independence/bishop 

Summer solstice! Hike naked day, except I'm zeroing in independence. So not hiking nor naked. Staying at the gorgeous mt Williamson motel run by groovy trail angels. They made us bacon and eggs and coffee. Birdbath had bacon :O really breaking in his meat stomach. Went back into bishop. Had lunch at this overwhingly huge and famous bakery called Schats Bakkery. It was like willy wonkas chocolate factory, for baked goods. Pastrami on rye and a smoked Gouda avocado sandwich. And chocolate chip cookies. Oiiiii yummmm. Oh and birdbath had bacon again! Chchchanges. 

Had a great French meal with dad at "still life cafe". Pasta primavera, chote du Rhone. Mmm.

Hiked into onion valley trail head. Up and over Kearsarge or "corsage" pass, according to Prometheus. Strider, the Wonder Woman and owner of mt Williamson motel, ran up and down to Kearsarge pass with her dog before picking my dad and I up to bring to her motel. 

Unfortunately all my lovely friends are staying in Bishop. At this amazing refurbished old hostel. Got to see Moonshine and Tink!!! So freaking beautiful reuniting :)  we were allowed to use the motels Prius to drive into Bishop.

Hung out at the hostel drinking wine and beer, playing music and scrabble with all my lovelies :D

Went to a burger barn with amazingness. Birdbath broke his 3 year vegetarianism!

My dad and I are currently complaining about how annoying it is to blog on stupid smart phones. My fingers are numb!

Mile 787

From Tyndall creek up and over Forrester pass, an "explosion of sierras" occurred. The John Muir trail has officially begun. Camped at Upper viddette meadow. With Birdbath. Had a fire, and a visit by Prometheus. Good peoples :) Happy birthday mama! You are a beacon of light and love. You are so special and lovely on so many levels. Thank you for loving me like you do. And thank you for hearing my wants and needs and sending my resupply boxes! You're the best thing.
