Lake Isabella

Yikes. Didn't plan on staying in lake Isabella for 2 nights. 

We waited here for another day because DJNS package with bear canister didn't arrive. Hung out at the motel pool and met a man named Brian Shaw with his family. He owns the ranch in town, that is called McNally ranch. He invited us to camp on his property. It's a historical site that is bigger than the town itself. Old cowboy and Indian land. Old sweat lodges, old barns. He's got a plan for a concert venue, bull riding arena, old timey village. There is even a man made cave and an archery range. Anyways... It is a really unbelievable property with a surreal view. I could feel the old cowboy and Indian energy. Pretty magical gem in a ghost town (full of juggalos). And his story was so inspiring... How he lost everything and was broken to pieces, and now he is so grateful for the life he has taken control of. I'm grateful for my hiking buds, DJ no shoes and risky business. And for this place with so much rich history and potential.
