I'm done with you, Mojave

6/4
Mile 605
Hiked 22.6 miles to water. Passed mile 600! I was so thirsty 3 miles before we arrived. Beautiful hike teasing me with forest. I can't wait to not carry 6 liters at a time and be amongst the trees and hike faster.

6/5
Mile 625
Hiked 20 miles. Saw a sign that said 20 miles to sequoia national forest. I got excited.

All hail the trail (Joshua trees do)

6/6
Mile 651
Walker pass. Hiked 25.6 miles! My biggest day.

Risky business climbing
Dirty Joe climbing

Ran into déjà vu, an older man who hikes southbound with only 2 days of food and uses two cars to help him do that. Confusing. We keep running Into him going the opposite way. Seen him 3 times in the past 3 days. Deja vu. Perfect name for him. Trial magic awaited us at the walker pass campsite. Carrot cake, bagels, bananas and hard boiled eggs.

6/7
Woke up and hitched 45 miles into the town of lake Isabella. Breakfast. Motel room. Picked up my resupply package. Went to the grocery. Bought beer and wine. Shower. I don't love being so clean, after being so dirty. The dirtiness just feels natural. Sunscreen is the only enemy.
